I continuously grapple with identity and story-weaving around my creative work. As mixed ethnicity diaspora estranged from my mother’s Korean roots, I’ve grown up with quiet but poignant feelings of otherness and longing. My process is thus an intuitive existential meandering, and the pieces that emerge invite more contemplation than clear narrative. Horizons, clouds, water, doorways, and multicolored lightwaves evoke my identification with continuous change and passage through the unknown. They are a record of my own practice toeing the vast ineffable Self, the threshold between energy and matter, and the profound mystery of infinite beingness.

Here I go by “Slo”. I’m a self-taught multidisciplinary artist currently focusing in abstract and surrealist drawings, oil paintings, and written poetry. The body of work viewable here also includes my earlier work ranging through relief print, paper collage, digital photography, and a smattering of marketing design commissions. For better or worse, my Instagram page @slo.musings tends to be more up-to-date, at least for now. My current projects include the Rainbow Body Oracle, a collaborative oracle deck that debuted in January 2026 with forthcoming publication, and development of my solo  show set to open August 2026 at Rogues Gallery, 9 N Ingersoll Madison, WI.
